GROUP NEWS!
- We need admins! If you're active and dedicated, and can commit to contributing a few hours a week, please the group!
- A gentle reminder: folks, please keep submissions friendly for our much younger members... potentially offensive (gory, sexual or expletive-heavy) or ideologically sensitive material MUST be labeled "mature" and be carefully considered. If you need an opinion as to whether or not the work is suitable for the group, please one of the admins — thanks!
- We now have a "Member promotions and news" folder in the Gallery — if there's anything you want to share with the group, put it here!
- Need a custom literature author tag? I'm offering them for 200, to raise funds for two groups trying to upgrade to supergroup status!
THEME OF THE... hrm. Month?
The only thing I found in that folder is this, and I'm not entirely certain it wasn't submitted to that folder by mistake:
THE BRIDE'S GRAVE
...So I'm going to try something new, here. In attempting not to bite off more than I can chew, I'm going to give y'all four prompts, and give you a month to do something with them... or not. Feature, as you can imagine, at the end of the month.
Here are your prompts!
1. Wasteland
Be sure to place your interpretations in our Theme of the Month folder, in our Gallery!
Here are your prompts!
1. Wasteland
“And I will show you something different from either
Your shadow at morning striding behind you
Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you
I will show you fear in a handful of dust”
― T.S. Eliot, The Waste Land
What does the concept of a wasteland invoke in memory, or muse?
2. Lost and Found
Have you ever lost something for so long you were no longer the same person, when it came back?
3. Betrayal
How has betrayal changed you? Was it your betrayal, or another's?
4. Forgiveness
Your shadow at morning striding behind you
Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you
I will show you fear in a handful of dust”
― T.S. Eliot, The Waste Land
What does the concept of a wasteland invoke in memory, or muse?
2. Lost and Found
“Moments, when lost, can't be found again. They're just gone.”
― Jenny Han, The Summer I Turned Pretty
Have you ever lost something for so long you were no longer the same person, when it came back?
3. Betrayal
“Yet each man kills the thing he loves
By each let this be heard
Some do it with a bitter look
Some with a flattering word
The coward does it with a kiss
The brave man with a sword”
― Oscar Wilde, The Ballad Of Reading Gaol
How has betrayal changed you? Was it your betrayal, or another's?
4. Forgiveness
“It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend.”
― William Blake
Be sure to place your interpretations in our Theme of the Month folder, in our Gallery!

LITplease is looking for admins!Hello again LITplease members (and HugQueen's watchers)!
It's been over a month since LITplease announced our plan to revitalize and we've run into a snag! There are only a few administrators so getting things started is a bit difficult and that's where you come in!
We're looking for active, enthusiastic, and dedicated deviants to help bring this group back to life!
The core tasks of an admin would include voting on gallery submissions, working on or helping with our various projects and events, helping the team come up with new ideas, and assisting with said new ideas.
You don't have to be an existing member of the group. (It's easy to join though because all you click is "Join Group", so you should do that anyways!)
Please send HugQueen a note with the title "LITplease Application".
Please mention the following things in you

Support for a Struggling Fellow DeviantDear friends and artists all:
One of us badly needs your help. Many of you know and love her already. She's a talented artist, and truly sweet soul.
:iconkittehmei: KittehMei
Fleeing a source of significant harm in her life, she suffered a malicious act of sabotage — and now needs emergency funds to restore the equipment she uses for her livelihood. It took courage to move on, and I'm immensely proud of her. Please, help me help her.
Any funds you can spare can be donated via PayPal to tinykittehkitteh@gmail.com.
If there's one thing I know this community knows how to do, it's rally to support each other. My love and gratitude to you all, in advance.
Please feel free to repost this journal.
UPDATE! Thank you all, so much, those of you who helped to support her...
Finally some good news! For over a month I have been fighting my PC to try to get it fixed after it was taken apartmore like torn apartby my ex in anger. I was given components back, but sadly the rough treatment left them damaged and so I have been unable to use my PC for a while. But after battling with it I have finally been able to replace stuff and get her up n working! I've not really been around at all recently, so I'm gonna list some things (both bad and good) that I have been dealing with this past little while..
The Bad
Was thrown into a huge change in a tiny amount of time that left me a little shakenBroken PCFighting the darn thing!Unable to draw digitally as I usually would (wanted to open commissions soon but no PC means no digital art )Fighting with my depression and anxietyto be honest the medication sucks more than the sads sometimesMy new-found independence is terrifying

This is from her book Oleander:
A small scrap of paper flutters weightlessly above the box. It hovers just out of reach, taunting her. Ripping at it with her fingers, she levers herself on top of the package and stretches to tiptoes. She’s barely pushed herself onto her heel

Reminder: NaNoWriMo Showcase!
NaNoWriMo has recently ended! And we would like to feature our members that participated. If you would like to be part of the showcase all you need to do is message me your word count, and a small excerpt if you wish. (Your book's title would be awesome too!) That's it!
There is no minimum word count. If you hit 50,000 words, CONGRATS! If you didn't, that's okay. You still wrote something and that is something to be proud of. I never got past 30,000 words.
I will ask that any excerpt you send isn't mature content. As for the format, it can either be a link, a dA piece, or something you copy and paste into the message. For the latter, though
